Introduction:
The most illustrative method of presenting an organization's structure and personnel is in chart form, IE an "Organization Chart". These charts must address two issues, "roles" and "positions". People fill roles and/or positions to work together in an organized way. A person may have multiple roles within a particular position and may hold more than one position.
A "role" consists of an activity or work flow done in a specific way.
Example--- cashier, stocker, yardman, truck driver
A "position" is a place on an organization chart. A person in a position may have multiple roles.
Example--- A sales associate may fulfill the roles of cashier and stocker
Organization charts for individual entities within the corporation are displayed in subsequent sections of this portion of the library. Those charts provide information as to who performs the duties of each position.
