Team Member Agreements:
High performance teams, be they in sports, the military or business, share a number of common traits. One trait is that the team members all agree to how they will behave while performing their assigned responsibilities. All SOLANO'S employees must "sign on" to the following:
1.
Make safety a priority
Keep safety in mind at all times – think
about and practice safe preparation, safe behavior, safe use of
tools while always wearing the safety gear needed for the job
2.
Work with others toward a goal
Align with, and help implement, the
mission, the visionary strategic plan for the company, and the
specific goals for the specific team you are a part of
3.
Focus
on YOUR job
Understand and execute the specific role,
job description and individual tasks or functions assigned
4.
Keep
your word
100% commitment to the team and BEING
accountable rather than being expected to be HELD accountable,
practicing relentless accountability and consistent follow through
5.
Be
other-centered
Using the company’s communication systems
– both in terms of information flow as well as communication skills
(i.e. Discern, Connect, Listen & Speak)
6.
Understand ALL of what you are to do
Practicing a COE for all received or
delegated tasks (What? By whom? By when?)
7.
Be
clear about what’s next
Communicating to closure, always know
what the outcome or next step is
8.
Don’t gossip or complain about someone else
Don’t participate in or allow third-party
communication
9.
Trust
each other
Use the Trust System (Choose to trust,
clearly understand COE of the situation, then practice relentless
accountability)
10.
Focus on “What” is the
problem, not “Who” is the problem
Practice solution-oriented interaction
and communication – be “issue based” rather than “blame based”
11.
Be
HERE when you’re here, and be on time
Arrive on time, be mentally “present” and
engaged with your team members and your job at all times and, for
meetings, assignments or requests – be on time, all the time. Being
“present” includes no cell phone, texting or personal computer usage
while working.
12.
Do
a job like you own it
Have 100% “ownership” of your role,
responsibilities and outcomes. Treat your job as if your team, and
the success of the company, depended on it (because it does), and do
it as if you are the ONLY person responsible for it – no one is
going to cover for you
13.
Never repeat a mistake
Do everything right the first time – if
you don’t, learn from the mistake and don’t repeat it. Figure out
what went wrong, involve the appropriate people, learn from the
issue and figure out how to not let it happen again, then institute
new ways of doing things for improvement
14.
Speak up when it’s time – then accept the decision when it’s made
Give input when there is opportunity, but
when a “play is called” do not second-guess, complain or criticize
that decision; move forward with the decision with 100% commitment
