Brief History:

SOLANO'S, INC is a locally owned retail business that sells hardware, building and home improvement products and services.  The company was started by Peter Eddy in 1975.  The business began as a small lumberyard and has since grown to four stores. Mike Solano became a general partner in 2005 and purchased the company outright in 2012 and is now the sole owner.

SOLANO'S Home Improvement Center, located at 700 Shastina Drive in Weed, is the original store established in 1975.  This store sells all components of home building including windows, doors, lumber, paint, cabinetry, plumbing, electrical, tools and garden supplies.  Also located in this store is Contractor Services, whose main function is to serve the purchasing needs of contractors and to ensure their orders are fulfilled in a timely manner.  The store and corporate support employs, on the average, 25 employees. The office of the president/CEO, Mike Solano is at this location.

The Business Office, part of the corporate support staff, is located at 700 Shastina Drive and provides Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Advertising, Human Resources and Controller functions. 

SOLANO'S Contractor Building Supply, located at 35 Upton Road Mount Shasta, opened in 1997.  This store serves as a builder's lumber center for the Mount Shasta, Dunsmuir and McCloud communities.  There are usually 3 full-time employees at this location.

SOLANO'S Equipment& Rental Center, situated in its own building at 700 Shastina Drive was established in 2000.  The Rental Center specializes in contractor, home, party and wedding rental needs.  The store generally employs 2 full-time employees.

SOLANO'S Alpine Hardware, located in the Ray's Shopping Center in Mount Shasta, is the most recent addition to the SOLANO'S, INC family of stores.  The store was acquired in 2002 and is geared toward retail shoppers and local homeowners.  The store sells and services appliances, hardware, garden supplies, paint, plumbing and electrical, seasonal sporting goods, hunting and fishing licenses and firearms.  The store employs 10-12 employees.
